Napier/Hawke's Bay, with its Mediterranean climate, is a great holiday destination. There is something for everyone to do, see or experience. The region is bursting with award-winning wineries and restaurants.

As a coastal area, there are many water attractions such as fishing or diving charters, sailing, kayak hire, windsurfing or enjoy the golden sand beaches at Waipatiki, Ocean Beach or Waimarama.

Napier is a city full of fine eateries and cafes. The size of the city makes it easy to get around and nothing is very far away. The Ocean Spa salt-water pool is on the parade as well as the Aquarium, Marineland swims with the dolphins, mini putt, lovely sunken gardens and beautiful flowered walkways.

Napier has two public swimming pools, market days, art deco tours and many festivals orientated events.

The wider Hawke's Bay area has many fun-filled days awaiting you with wine trails, gannet tours, crystal clear rivers for swimming and trout fishing, horse trekking, Splash Planet in Hastings, four golf courses close by, bush walks, hot air ballooning, helicopter hireage, organised bus tours and much more.

Visit the Farmers' Market in Hastings only 15-20 minutes drive from Napier or the Black Barn Market in Havelock North, a further 5 minutes away.

Te Awanga, on the coast just south of Napier boasts the world-famous Gannet Colony at Cape Kidnappers (tours overland or tide allowing on tractors down the beach) along with the internationally acclaimed Cape Kidnappers Golf Course. Te Awanga also has several quality wineries and makes for a great days outing.
